The more I learn about our body’s natural systems and bacteria and how they work, the more I am amazed. It is a delicate dance and it is becoming more and more apparent that we are taking liberties with things that could be damaging us as the human race forever. There is amazing research being conducted that will hopefully shine the light on practices that are becoming more and more harmful to the human race. I am looking at this from mostly a reproductive and birthing standpoint as it is one of my passions right now and one that I have the most experience with.
I first heard about how us as human beings are colonized with good bacteria in a blog post written a few years ago by a pizza company, Naked Pizza….seriously! Lol Since that first reading I went to find the blog post “We came naked, barefoot and covered in bugs” that I had identified with so much and found the blog had disappeared. But, I found a copy that Dr.momma.org had reposted with permission. Recently, another champion for birth and birthing woman, has directed her sights on this research and is putting together a documentary on the subject and needs some support and funding to bring attention to this very important subject, worldwide. Check out the trailer for this documentary and help if you can. I will hate to see what can happen to us as the human race if we don’t change the path that we are on now.
