I am a woman of many passions, almost all of them include pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. I have been following these passions for several years now in between birthing my own babies and furthering my education. I became a Professional Birth Doula in Swift Current area in 2009 which opened up a whole set of new passions and directions that I wanted to take with helping women in the childbearing year.
I have been able to attend home births, water births, hospital births. I have had the privilege of working with single mothers, families, little ones that are becoming older siblings, midwives, OBGYNs, family doctors and nurses. I also have experience with caesarean birth, VBAC, natural labour, epidural analgesia/spinal anesthesia, babywearing and wraps, cloth diapering and breastfeeding.
I took a Childbirth Educator course through Aviva college in 2011. My most recent training was from the Canadian Babywearing School in both levels 1 and 2 to become the only formally trained Professional Babywearing Educator for Swift Current and surrounding areas. Read more about my babywearing experience and how it makes me the best choice to help you learn to wear your babies under My babywearing story. Finally, I have come back to my first passion. I have enrolled in Childbirth International’s Breastfeeding Counselor course. More information about Amy can be found HERE.
